Former Best Buy at Geary and Masonic to Become Asian Market T&T, After Whole Foods Plan Falls Through
Briefly

T&T Supermarket, Canada’s largest Asian grocery chain, plans to occupy the long-empty former Best Buy location in San Francisco's City Center by Winter 2026. This move follows years of uncertainty over a Whole Foods opening, which now appears unlikely. The 50,000-square-foot store will offer a wide range of Asian groceries and prepared foods, contributing to a growing trend of Asian mega-marts in the Bay Area. The CEO anticipates the location will enhance the retail landscape in the area and cater to rising local demand.
San Francisco is on the rise, and we're excited to be part of its next chapter, says T&T CEO Tina Lee in a statement.
When it opens, in addition to produce, groceries and a whole lot of packaged ramen, this 50,000-square-foot T&T Supermarket will offer prepared items like soup dumplings, green onion pancakes, sushi, barbecue items, and desserts.
