Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi have moved to the English countryside, seeking a quieter life after Donald Trump's reelection. Initially facing challenges, including a local building dispute and concerns over flooding, they have adapted well to rural living. DeGeneres shared humorous glimpses of their new lifestyle via social media, featuring activities such as landscaping and caring for chickens. Additionally, she has recently sold one of her Californian properties and continued working on projects following the end of her controversial talk show.
In February, there were reports that they were considering leaving the property, after locking horns with locals over a single-storey extension on their land.
It seems they are both happy with life in the countryside. "Some people have a dream of becoming a farmer, clearly our dream was to become a landscape maintenance crew with a little farming on the side," they wrote on Instagram.
A few days earlier, the couple shared another glimpse of their rural life in a video showing DeGeneres sitting on a mower, which at one point had to be pushed by a farmhand.
At the end of last year, Netflix dropped Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval, her first major body of work since her controversial talk show came to an end.
