Gardai are investigating a serious incident in Cappagh involving a man in his 70s who was found with serious injuries and later pronounced deceased. Emergency services responded shortly after 6pm. A male in his 40s was arrested at the scene and is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. The scene has been preserved for forensic examination, and a Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed to lead the investigation. Ongoing investigations are being conducted with the Coroner and the Office of the State Pathologist notified.
