Ongoing searches led by the Gardaà are focused on recovering human remains at a farm linked to a missing person case, which has been reclassified as a homicide investigation. The case gained momentum after a member of the public alerted authorities about potential human matter discovered on the property. Preliminary examinations indicate that the recovered body tissue is likely human. The investigation, which includes DNA analysis for formal identification, is being supported by various Garda units, following extensive prior searches and gathering witness statements.
The homicide investigation, led by a Senior Investigating Officer and the Serious Crime Unit Kerry Garda Division is ongoing, supported by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
DNA analysis will be required to carry out formal identification of the recovered human remains.
We got a phone call from a third party and a search was recommenced. The indications are that the body tissue is likely to be human.
