Jenny and Allyn Condon lost their eight-week-old son Ben in the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children in 2015. Over the past decade, their anguish has intensified due to the hospital trust's handling of Ben's case. Initially diagnosed with human metapneumovirus, Ben's condition rapidly worsened, and he ultimately died from complications linked to respiratory issues and prematurity. Despite assurances, the parents later learned Ben had a bacterial infection, leading to a complex inquest revealing care failings. This prolonged trauma has significantly impacted Jenny's mental health, leaving her feeling destroyed and broken.
Losing Ben at the age of eight weeks in the paediatric intensive care unit of the Bristol royal hospital for children in the spring of 2015 was traumatic and heartbreaking for Jenny and Allyn Condon.
I'm a broken woman. I'm in constant fight or flight," said Jenny, who tried to kill herself and has post-traumatic stress syndrome after the loss of her son.
