Teen charged and boy arrested after hunting knife found' in Ilford

Two boys, aged 14 and 16, were arrested in Ilford after police discovered two knives during a stop-and-search operation on Prior Road. This occurred on July 6 at around 4pm. The older boy was charged with possession of an offensive weapon and is scheduled to appear at Barkingside Magistrates' Court on July 14. The younger boy was released without any charges. The knives included a kitchen knife and a serrated hunting knife.
A 16-year-old has been charged and a 14-year-old arrested after knives were found in a search in Ilford. Local police officers carried out a stop-and-search on two boys while on patrol in Prior Road around 4pm yesterday (July 6). Two knives were allegedly found and seized by police.
The 16-year-old was charged with possession of an offensive weapon the next day and is due at Barkingside Magistrates' Court on July 14. The 14-year-old boy was released without charge.

A Met Police spokesperson said: 'On Sunday, 6 July at around 16:00hrs, local officers stopped and searched two boys while out on a proactive patrol on Prior Road, Ilford.'
