Metropolitan Police A convicted sex offender who was accidentally released from prison has pleaded guilty to burglary and carrying a knife. Brahim Kaddour-Cherif, 24, became the centre of a manhunt in November after he was mistakenly set free from HMP Wandsworth while on remand awaiting trial for the offences. On Tuesday, Kaddour-Cherif appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court and admitted breaking into a garage in Walthamstow, east London and stealing bikes in January 2024.
Henry family via Met Police A man accused of murdering a teenage boy who was killed in north London has appeared in court. Adam Henry, 15, died after being stabbed on 9 December in Islington, north London. Abdel Derdour, of Old Gloucester Street in Camden, north London, has also been charged with possession of a knife in a public place. At Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on Monday, the 22-year-old was remanded in custody ahead of his next appearance at Inner London Crown Court on New Year's Eve.
BBC A man has admitted stabbing an 11-year-old girl in a random knife attack in Leicester Square. The Australian child was on holiday with her 34-year-old mother when she was targeted by Ioan Pintaru in London's West End at about 11:30 BST on 12 August last year. Pintaru, who denied attempted murder, allegedly approached the girl as she left the Lego store, placed her in a headlock and stabbed her eight times.
A knifeman who assaulted two men in an unprovoked attack on the Underground has been convicted following a police investigation. Two men, aged 44 and 42, had finished a midweek dance class and were waiting on separate Northern Line platforms when Green passed through the barriers. Moments later, Green launched a brutal "ferocious and unprovoked" 20-second assault on the older victim. When the younger gentlemen rushed to help, Green stabbed him 13 times before horrified passengers managed to intervene.
