Police have initiated a manhunt following a disturbing incident where a woman was raped in Toddler's Cove playground. The attack occurred around 9:30pm on Friday when the victim was approached by four unknown men. Subsequently, one of the men assaulted her after the other assailants vacated the scene. The brutal nature of the crime, particularly occurring in a children's playground, has shocked the local community, prompting urgent police action.
The suspect has been described as a white Eastern European male, approximately 18 or 19 years old, with tight black curly hair that covered his ears. He was attired in a distinctive white tracksuit top and bottoms, and he carried a small white bag around his waist. Witnesses noted that two of the men with him were also white and of a similar age, while the fourth man had darker skin.
The police have urged motorists with dashcams who were in the vicinity around the time of the incident to check their footage, as well as local businesses and residents to review any doorbell cameras or CCTV footage for potential evidence or clues.
