Woman who reported predatory officer blamed by Met
Briefly

The Metropolitan Police has issued an apology to a woman, referred to as Lorraine, who was groomed by PC Phil Hunter, a former officer guilty of misconduct. Following her repeated attempts to report the inappropriate behavior, Lorraine faced victim-blaming and misinformation regarding her mental health from the police. Acting Det Ch Supt Neil Smithson acknowledged these serious failings and the distress they caused. He emphasized the unacceptability of officers abusing their positions of trust, revealing the police's duty to protect rather than discredit vulnerable individuals.
I want to be clear, it is unacceptable for any officer to abuse their position of trust and I would like to acknowledge and apologise for the distress this has caused.
Victim-blaming has occurred towards you by members of the Metropolitan Police and this is not acceptable.
