One person was killed and at least four were injured after a tornado touched down in Brazoria County, Texas, bringing significant damage and triggering multiple warnings across the South.
The damage from the tornado was extensive enough to leave at least 10 buildings, including a school, struck by strong winds, highlighting the unusual severity of such a weather event in Brazoria County.
According to Madison Polston from the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office, "We rarely get tornadoes here in Brazoria County. If we do, for there to be damage to this extent, or injuries, is also very uncommon."
The National Weather Service issued tornado warnings across the region, including Louisiana and Mississippi, cautioning residents of potentially deadly conditions due to flying debris.
