"A mass shooting in Newark left two people killed, including an 10-year-old boy, and three others injured Saturday night, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. The office said Newark Police were called to the scene at the 300 block of Chancellor Ave. around 7:00 p.m. Saturday. A 21-year-old woman was also killed in the shooting. The woman and the boy were pronounced dead at University Hospital."

Newark will work tirelessly with the prosecutor's office, state law-enforcement, and federal agencies to ensure justice is served," Newark Mayor Ras Baraka said in a statement. "We urge the killer to turn himself in, as there is no safe place to hide." Prosecutors announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to the shooter's arrest. Baraka called it a"dark and devastating day in Newark," noting that a small child had also fallen to his death from an apartment window."
