Brake lines cut on vehicle parked in Saratoga

Between July 27 and August 8, 2023, a series of thefts and vandalism occurred in Saratoga. A vehicle had its brake lines cut twice, inflicting $3,000 in damage. Three suspects stole merchandise from Safeway. A resident experienced theft by false pretense, resulting in a loss of about $23,897 after being tricked into providing remote access to their computer. Additionally, another resident faced identity theft, which altered tax records and led to a bill for around $9,000. Two residential burglaries took place, leading to cash and jewelry theft.
Between July 27 and Aug. 4, someone cut the brake lines of a vehicle parked in the 15000 block of Gypsy Hill Road on two separate occasions, causing approximately $3,000 in damage.
At 6:27 p.m. on Aug. 6, three suspects entered Safeway in the Argonaut Center, acted in concert and stole merchandise of an unknown value before fleeing the scene.
A Saratoga resident reported that someone sent her an email that downloaded a pop-up virus onto her computer, leading to a total loss of about $23,897.
