Millions of Hindu devotees from all across India gathered in Prayagraj to participate in the Maha Kumbh festival, the largest religious gathering in the world, which includes a series of ritual baths at the sacred confluence of rivers. It’s believed these rituals help cleanse them of past sins and lead toward salvation from the cycle of rebirth.
Hindu sadhus and other pilgrims observe strict austerity, giving alms and bathing daily at sunrise. As one pilgrim, Bhagwat Prasad Tiwari, said, 'We feel peaceful here and attain salvation from the cycles of life and death,' highlighting the profound spiritual significance this festival holds.
