As Johnson turned to go back inside, he suddenly got dizzy and disoriented and fell. He lay on the ground helplessly as the sun came up, with Gita by his side.
Deputy Colton Wright... spotted Gita sitting beside the highway. I came around a blind corner and saw her sitting on the side of the road... I just followed my normal instinct.
Gita then lay in the middle of the road as if waiting for someone until Deputy Wright arrived... even when the patrol tried to coax her into the car, she refused.
Johnson believed that Gita understood his request for help; her actions highlighted the incredible bond between a pet and its owner.
