Mass. school bus driver allegedly inappropriately touched child
"The bus driver, a Wilmington man, is being summonsed to Woburn District Court, and police are seeking two charges against him: assault and battery and indecent assault and battery on a child under 14. "The defendant is not being identified at this time since he faces a criminal summons instead of arrest," the department explained in a release. "He will be identified at a later time if a criminal arraignment is scheduled." Back on Monday, Dec. 8, police were notified of "potentially inappropriate social media activity" by the driver and began investigating."
""A subsequent investigation, which included review of video surveillance footage from the school bus, led investigators to determine that the bus driver allegedly touched a child inappropriately," police said. It's unclear when the incident occurred. Once the additional allegations surfaced, NRT Bus, which provides transportation services to Wilmington Public Schools, was notified and suspended the driver, according to police."
Police are seeking assault and indecent assault and battery charges against a 70-year-old Wilmington school bus driver who allegedly inappropriately touched a child on his bus. The driver is being summonsed to Woburn District Court and is not being publicly identified while facing a criminal summons. Police began investigating after being notified Dec. 8 of potentially inappropriate social media activity by the driver, and additional parents came forward Dec. 10–11 with allegations, including one who said the driver touched their child. Review of bus video surveillance led investigators to determine the alleged inappropriate touching. NRT Bus suspended the driver.
