Nintendo launched preorders for the long-awaited Switch 2 in the US at 12AM ET, but users faced numerous issues. Reports indicated that while some managed to reach the checkout, many encountered errors that prevented completing purchases, particularly on the Target app. Best Buy and Walmart also faced problems, with Walmart showing a vague queue and Best Buy not yet having the preorder option available. Despite initial plans for a smoother rollout, these complications followed earlier delays in preorder announcements due to tariff concerns. The console is set to launch on June 5th at a price of $449.99 in the US.
Many of us were able to get to the checkout screen, but ran into errors from there that stopped a purchase.
Nintendo originally announced that preorders would go live in the US on April 9th ahead of a June 5th launch for the console.
Best Buy, which promised to launch preorders at 12AM ET, still shows a gray 'coming soon' button.
The preorder problems follow Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa issuing a supply warning in Japan on Wednesday.
