Victor Rivas, 51, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury after a stabbing inside a Norfolk Street apartment complex in Cambridge. Emergency personnel responded to a 911 call shortly before 8 p.m. and located the male victim with serious injuries; the man later died at a local hospital. CPD and MIT Police Department officers located Rivas nearby and arrested him. The preliminary investigation indicates an altercation occurred inside the apartment between Rivas and the male victim, who are believed to be known to each other, and both sustained injuries. Rivas is set to be arraigned Friday and the incident remains under investigation.
