Suspect sought in Emeryville arson fires

A suspect set three vehicles ablaze in Emeryville, California, on Saturday morning. The fires occurred around 7:14 a.m. in the rear alley of Pak N Save, affecting a Toyota Avalon, Jeep Wrangler, and Honda Fit. The suspect also attempted to ignite a fourth vehicle, a Toyota Camry, and lit plywood outside Lanesplitter Pizza & Pub, causing a small fire. Video surveillance captured the incidents, but the motive remains unknown. No injuries were reported, and police are requesting public assistance in identifying the suspect.
The suspect first struck about 7:14 a.m. Saturday when he set three vehicles on fire in the rear alley of Pak N Save, 3889 San Pablo Ave.
Video surveillance in the area showed the man intentionally setting the fires. The video also showed the man unsuccessfully trying to set a fourth vehicle on fire.
The man then went to Lanesplitter Pizza & Pub, 3645 San Pablo Ave., where he lit some plywood in front of the building on fire.
