Federal workers in the U.S. are mounting a disciplined civil disobedience campaign against pressures to resign due to Elon Musk's regime, despite facing mass firings and intimidation tactics. The movement, fueled by a strong sense of community and commitment to truth, is characterized by solidarity among civil servants who have collectively rejected false narratives undermining their performance. Encouraged by fellow employees on platforms like Reddit, the civil service has rallied to document their excellence and maintain their roles, showing remarkable unity in the face of arbitrary dismissals.
Their rallying cry soon became: Hold the line, don't resign. Although 2 million workers were pressured to quit, only 75,000 of them took what looked like a sketchy buyout deal.
Their protest might even be seen as a political short squeeze. Starting on 28 January, federal employees refused to leave their posts in spite of Musk's campaign to bully them out.
