Gerrymandering Expert Tells Dan Abrams Republicans Currently Have a Four-Seat Advantage' Against Democrats, Despite Claims of Unfair Districts
Briefly

Research from the Princeton Gerrymandering Project examined redistricting and map fairness across all 50 states. Findings indicate gerrymandering occurred in this cycle by both Democrats and Republicans, with Republicans doing so somewhat more on balance. When districts from all states are evaluated against a neutral standard for drawing lines, Republicans have about a four-seat advantage relative to fair districting. Assertions that Democratic gerrymandering in blue states explains a larger Republican majority are not supported by these empirical results. The current political debate includes calls by Republican leaders to redraw maps for partisan gain and a reciprocal response threat from California leadership.
You need to look at all the evidence and you need to find a way to do it so that you can't tell whether the person bringing the evidence is a Democrat or a Republican. And I will tell you that at the Princeton Gerrymandering Project, we've studied redistricting and unfair maps and fair maps in all 50 states, and as far as we can tell, gerrymandering in this cycle was done by Democrats and Republicans, and that on balance Republicans did it somewhat more.
Claims that the other side gerrymanders are commonplace when made by either Democrats or Republicans, but it's exactly like what I said about autism and science. You need to look at all the evidence and you need to find a way to do it so that you can't tell whether the person bringing the evidence is a Democrat or a Republican.
