Google Continues Testing Centering Search Results
"Google is testing placing the search results in the center of the screen, instead of aligning it more to the left of the screen."
"This is an ongoing test we have seen on and off over many years and it is still going on."
"I personally spotted the test a few weeks ago and posted about it on X - here are my screenshots of the normal left aligned version compared to the centered version that Google is testing:"
"I am not a fan of it being centered on really wide screen windows."
Google is testing a centered search-results layout that places results in the middle of the page rather than left-aligned. The centered layout has appeared intermittently over many years and continues to surface for some users. A user reported spotting the centered layout recently and shared screenshots comparing the traditional left-aligned view to the centered test. The centered presentation affects very wide browser windows by concentrating results in the middle and reducing use of horizontal space. Some users express dislike for the centered layout on wide screens. The test remains ongoing and visible to different users at different times.
