In response to player feedback, Blizzard announced significant adjustments for Diablo 4 in Season 8, aimed at slowing down progression and enhancing challenge. Recent statistics showed an accelerated leveling pace in Season 7, with players reaching max level in about nine hours and max difficulty much quicker than in previous seasons. To address concerns that the game felt too easy, Blizzard will reduce XP earned from levels 1-25 and decrease the frequency of legendary item drops at lower levels while enhancing the rarity of Magic and Rare items. Torment difficulties will also become increasingly challenging.
We've heard a ton of feedback that it feels just like a weekend game right now. You can blast through all the torment tiers, there's nothing really satisfying about it, there's nothing to work towards because you are just getting so much power so frequently and really just crushing this content.
As part of Season 8, players will earn less XP from levels 1-25, slowing down the progression curve. Legendary items will also drop less frequently at lower levels.
