Tim Cain returned to Obsidian full-time and in person after relocating from Seattle to southern California. A local squirrel approached Cain and he began feeding it walnuts daily. Cain will appear in the credits of an upcoming unspecified game he contracted on prior to rejoining Obsidian. Cain completed contract work for multiple other projects that are unlikely to release. The years 2020–2025 produced many game cancellations and uncertain project statuses. Cain’s current Obsidian project is protected by an NDA and cannot be discussed. Cain’s past credits include the original Fallout, Fallout 2, South Park: The Stick of Truth, Pillars of Eternity, The Outer Worlds, and The Outer Worlds 2.
