Hironobu Sakaguchi said he has no interest in returning to the series after partnering up with Square Enix for the PC and console version of Fantasian.
Sakaguchi mentioned he is now a consumer of Final Fantasy, particularly Final Fantasy XIV, and does not want to know how the games in the series are made to maintain his enjoyment.
Mistwalker, Sakaguchi's studio, is working on a new game with a finalized story, but he has no interest in bringing previous titles like Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon to new platforms.
