After nearly two decades without Madden on Nintendo, the Switch 2 brings a promising revival. My experience with the Madden 26 demo showed that despite a slight graphical downgrade compared to PS5, the gameplay remained robust. Previous Madden games on Nintendo suffered from lack of new features and critical reception issues, leading EA Sports to halt development. However, Madden 26 on Switch 2 offers complete feature parity with other console versions, indicating a significant turnaround. The new hardware’s design also felt improved, enhancing overall user experience for long-time fans returning to Nintendo.
The last Madden game released for Nintendo was Madden 13 in 2012. After that, EA discontinued support due to significant technical limitations and poor performance.
I was glad to see that Madden 26 offers feature and mode parity with the other versions, unlike previous Nintendo versions which were often stripped of key elements.
Even though Madden 26 on Switch 2 had a graphical downgrade compared to PS5, it felt uncompromised in gameplay, making it enjoyable overall.
The heftier Switch 2 felt better in my hands than the original Switch, signaling an upgraded Nintendo experience for Madden that I had missed for years.
