Mass Effect Veteran's New Studio, Which Was Making AAA Sci-Fi Game, Is Shutting Down

Humanoid Origin announced its closure due to an ‘unexpected shortfall of funding,’ leaving its team 'heartbroken' over the inability to launch their new sci-fi game.

‘In our time together, the team achieved incredible progress, and demonstrated that it's possible to do amazing work while fostering a culture of fun and creativity,’ Humanoid stated.

Founded by Mass Effect veteran Casey Hudson, Humanoid Origin had been working on a so-called ‘incredible AAA IP unlike anything else’ since its announcement in 2021.

Despite Hurricane Origin's closure, BioWare continues its work with the recent launch of Dragon Age: The Veilguard and development of the next Mass Effect game.
