In 2001, PlayStation owners in Japan got a glimpse of an officially licensed controller specifically designed for the popular Game of Life video game. This custom gamepad was practically square with a circle at the top edge used as a roulette wheel, earning the name 'Takara Roulette Controller.'
More than two decades later, a modder revamped this unique controller into a standalone gaming device by replacing the roulette wheel with an LCD screen for direct gaming. The controller was transformed into a mini gaming computer.
This mod not only included the LCD screen but also added modern gaming conveniences like L and R back triggers, enhancing the original controller design with additional functionalities for a more modern gaming experience.
