"That guy's the heart and soul of this team,"
"Works hard every night and competes for us and sticks up for guys."
Tom Wilson returned to the Washington Capitals' training camp skate at MedStar Capitals Iceplex following a career season in which he set personal highs with 65 points and reached the 30-goal mark. Wilson served as a full-time alternate captain in 2024-25 and is widely expected to become the franchise's next captain after Alex Ovechkin retires. Wilson attended Team Canada’s National Teams Orientation Camp ahead of the 2026 Olympics. Brandon Duhaime and Anthony Beauvillier also skated after joining the team last season; Hendrix Lapierre skated after spending time in the AHL with Hershey.
