A tragic shooting in Washington, D.C. resulted in the deaths of Israeli Embassy employees Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim. The couple, who were attending an event at the Capital Jewish Museum, was shot by a gunman who reportedly chanted 'free, free Palestine.' Following their deaths, Israeli officials condemned the act as a terrorist attack fueled by antisemitism. The FBI announced that the investigation will include considerations of hate crime motives. Embassy representatives expressed profound grief, highlighting the couple's youth and their plans to marry.
Lischinsky and Milgrim were 'in the prime of their lives' and planning to get married, said the Israeli Embassy. 'Instead of walking you down the aisle, we are walking with you to your graves,' Naim said.
FBI's Steven J. Jensen stated during a news conference that the investigation will consider the shooting as a possible hate crime related to antisemitism.
