Adobe's HR chief tells staff: We're done with DEI hiring goals
Briefly

Adobe is moving away from its diversity hiring goals initially set in 2020, which aimed to improve minority representation in leadership. During an internal meeting, Gloria Chen, the chief people officer, stated that the company will stop enforcing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) targets, while stressing the commitment to fair hiring practices. This shift aligns Adobe with several other major companies that are also reducing their DEI efforts, influenced partly by governmental directives. Chen clarified that this change pertains primarily to the US, as Adobe evaluates compliance with new regulations.
At an internal all-hands meeting on Monday, Adobe's chief people officer Gloria Chen announced that Adobe will no longer keep diversity, equity, and inclusion hiring targets.
Aspirational goals were set in 2020 to "increase global diversity and inclusion" at leadership levels, including increasing female leadership representation to 30% globally.
"We will discontinue the practice of setting aspirational representation goals while continuing our focus on fair and consistent hiring practices," Chen stated.
Adobe's HR chief acknowledged that executive orders regarding DEI can be "complex" and that the company is evaluating its internal programs for compliance.
