During a ceremony on May 8, Cornell's Professional Academic Advising Community (PAAC) honored Gabrielle Smith and Sophia Givre for their significant contributions to academic advising. Smith received the Individual Impact award for her personalized support of students, while Givre earned the Leadership and Community Impact award for her efforts in enhancing advising practices. The event also recognized outgoing co-chair Steph Cowling-Rich for her three years of dedicated service, with colleagues expressing their appreciation for her compassionate and equity-grounded leadership. Both honored advisors received $2,500 for professional development.
