In 2022, I submitted a new story called Hart’s Ridge, eager to hear feedback. It blended true crime with familial bonds, straddling women’s fiction and small-town mystery.
When the rejection came, I felt disappointed. I believed in my story's potential for a series, but I hadn’t invested much in self-publishing until now.
Instead of following my usual rejection route, I committed to this indie project fully, outlining eight books with emotionally driven stories focused on growth.
I decided on a rapid release strategy, launching the first books in quick succession to maximize visibility and reader engagement, which was a new approach for me.
