NCKU Art Lounges occupies a central position at National Cheng Kung University, oriented toward the Tainan City Wall remnants and the West Gate along a tree-lined avenue. The project sits adjacent to the University President's Residence and anchors the main campus green belt and student activity corridor. The site’s previous function as a kindergarten was reimagined and adapted into a novel public space that is accessible at all times. A multidisciplinary team led by Yu-Chen Chao and MAYU architects collaborated with structural, MEP, lighting, and landscape consultants to deliver the civic and programmatic transformation.

NCKU Art Lounges is situated at the heart of National Cheng Kung University, facing the remnants of the Tainan City Wall and its West Gate through a tree-lined avenue. It neighbors the University President's Residence and lies along the primary green belt and student activities within the campus. Originally used as a kindergarten, the site has been transformed into a novel type of public space within the university, made possible by this project, welcoming students, faculty, residents, and alumni to visit at any time.
