Rubra Restaurant is designed to harmonize architecture, landscape, and gastronomy with its sand-toned concrete structure. Located on the Punta Mita peninsula, the approach includes dense vegetation to create a concealed entry. The restaurant features a series of concrete volumes for the kitchen, wine cellar, and bar, enhancing the dining experience. Cross ventilation is promoted through strategic openings, and a flexible sliding glass facade allows climate control while maintaining views. The design fosters a connection with the natural surroundings and optimizes light through carefully planned architectural elements.
The project integrates architecture, landscape, and gastronomy through a spatial composition defined by material uniformity and precise planning. Constructed entirely from sand-toned concrete, the monolithic structure establishes continuity with its natural surroundings.
The layout orients openings toward the surrounding landscape while maintaining visual privacy from built structures. Cross ventilation is facilitated by strategically positioned apertures, and a large column-free space, measuring 10 by 15 meters, that sits beneath a roof supported by a pergola grid and wooden lattices.
