Crews have begun shedding layers of scaffolding that kept the Flatiron Building covered since before the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing New Yorkers and visitors to once again bask in its glory.

Greenwich Park has just introduced a new 'valley of blossom', planting 130 prunus 'sekiyama' cherry trees sourced straight from Japan. These new trees will tower above the park's existing cherry trees, growing to 12 metres high and 8m in spread.
The city has rebuilt large stretches of East River Park and raised portions of the shoreline to blunt storm surges and future sea-level rise. The elevated terrain now does double duty as public playground and flood barrier, with new courts, lawns and pathways taking over much of the old footprint.
