New York City beaches opened for the summer, providing free access to over 14 miles of beach space with lifeguards present from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

"As with every year, visitors may see sections of beach closed off for swimming/capacity restrictions based on daily lifeguard staffing," a Parks Department spokesperson told Brooklyn Paper.
