LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Bears wide receiver DJ Moore is back in Chicago after spending the night in a Washington, D.C.-area hospital where he was evaluated for a groin injury, according to coach Ben Johnson. Johnson declined to provide details about Moore's injury but categorized the receiver as "day-to-day." "That's a little bit more of a personal story there," Johnson said.
With the team depleted at the position, the team will be signing a cornerback to be named later, according to McDaniel, specifically one who can line up as a nickel. We'll be adding a player, and then there will be some subsequent moves that we'll do throughout the week."
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Cardinals wide receiver Zay Jones will not play Thursday night against the Seattle Seahawks after not yet clearing concussion protocol, coach Jonathan Gannon said Wednesday. Jones suffered the injury on the last offensive snap of Sunday's 16-15 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, on which Jones had a pass knocked out of his hands on a crucial third-and-9. Gannon said he didn't know about Jones' injury until after his post-game press conference.
This was Fields' first documented concussion in the NFL, though he did have one at Ohio State. He finished Sunday's game with a career-low QBR (1.1). The NFL has a five-step protocol for concussions, and the player must be cleared by an independent neurologist before he returns to action. The Jets are looking to avoid their first 0-3 start since 2021.
The move comes just one day after the Cubs recalled Caissie to the big league roster and optioned Alcantara to the minors. Caissie started yesterday's game against the Rays but exited the game after hitting his head against the outfield wall at Wrigley Field while making a catch.
"There was a thought of wanting to just make sure that we completed the weekly process," O'Connell said, "specifically knowing that we had the extra day and then allowing Christian to go feel the atmosphere and start getting his mind in that place where he could go, and it was a total positive from that standpoint. He continues to progress and with the injury he had, he's still so far ahead of schedule and it's such a great place on the daily
Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams is not expected to play against Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday as he works through the protocol from a concussion suffered against Florida State, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel. Williams, a preseason Associated Press All-American, was helped off the field midway through the fourth quarter of the 31-17 loss last Saturday after his helmet slammed into the ground following his third dropped pass of the game.
