Coby White will miss at least two more weeks while ramping up basketball activities after a right calf strain, missing the season opener.
Liam Hendriks' long stint on the injured list has now been extended by forearm tightness, Red Sox manager told the Boston Globe's Tim Healey and other reporters. This setback has halted Hendriks' throwing and has likely ended his season after 14 games and 13 2/3 innings at the big league level. Forearm issues aren't a good sign for a pitcher who missed all of the 2024 season due to a Tommy John surgery,
The Blue Jays have gotten a solid performance from Scherzer this season. In 12 starts, Scherzer has a 5-2 record with a 3.82 earned run average and 61 strikeouts. Half of Scherzer's starts in 2025 have been quality starts, but he has really shined in the month of August. In five starts Scherzer has won four of them, pitching into at least the sixth in all of them and hasn't allowed more than six hits in any of those outings.
