New Yorkers are advised to take precautions due to extreme heat, with cooling centers available and health risks highlighted.
The city of Los Angeles will open cooling centers in South L.A., the San Fernando Valley and the Eastside to provide a break from the extreme heat expected in the region. Temperatures are forecasted to reach 95 to 105 degrees in L.A. County and 100 to 110 degrees in the Antelope Valley, with the weather service expecting a cool down by Wednesday.
