Sheriff Christina Corpus denied that she suspended Sgt. Joe Fava for providing evidence to outside investigators concluding she mishandled deputy misconduct complaints.

Robert Bonner, the oversight commission chair, expressed surprise over his dismissal, stating he was "dismissed without so much as a phone call from Supervisor Barger."
