I am astonished the Prime Minister can actually look himself in the mirror right now. It is very clear that he told lie after lie after lie about the appointment of Peter Mandelson. He has been dishonest with Parliament and with the country. And Labour MPs, in good conscience, should be looking at whether or not this man should be leading our country.

The reporting landed on the same day that a group of Senate Democrats launched an investigation into Chavez-De-Remer's policy moves at the Labor Department, accusing her agency of showing "disregard for workers' lives" by "rolling back protections that keep workers safe and hobbling the agency that is tasked with overseeing worker safety."
An investigative subcommittee of the Ethics panel released a 59-page report last week detailing a litany of allegations against Cherfilus-McCormick. Most notably, it said there is "substantial" evidence to back up criminal charges the Florida Democrat is facing that she laundered a $5 million government contract overpayment to her family business and funneled it into her congressional campaign. The report also alleged instances of misreporting campaign finances, accepting illegal donations, improper employment practices and steering federal funding towards allies and associates.

In October, a Florida judge granted a protective order against Mills after a former girlfriend accused him of threatening to release sexually explicit photos and videos of her. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) brushed off questions at the time about the order, but told reporters that Ethics would investigate Mills, "if it warrants that."
An independent audit found that Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria received an extra $260,964 in longevity and cost-of-living payments, including a $31,664 lump-sum adjustment in 2023. The findings, presented Monday at a special City Council meeting by MDD Foresnic Accountants, follow a state inspector general report earlier this year that flagged $180,000 in overpaid longevity funds. "Trust in government at the end of the day is everything," City Councilor Robert Van Campen said. "If we lose trust in the city government ... then the whole system breaks down."
