For a split moment, as I fidgeted with the various crevices, buttons, and hinges of the TriFold, I felt a sense of nostalgia. Specifically, back in 2019, when the very first Galaxy Fold was released. It was far from being a lavish or refined handset, with its bulky design and oddly-sized cover screen. But to enthusiasts, using a phone that could unfold into something bigger felt like the Holy Grail of devices, as my colleague Matt Miller once elegantly put it.
For a few years now, I've been more and more tempted by foldables. It started with a Galaxy Z Fold4 back in the day, and has only gotten stronger. I want a foldable in my pocket, but one with great cameras. At the end of 2025, I feel like foldable camera systems are nearly at the level I want them to be.
A few months after launch, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra had outsold its two siblings - of the 9.16 million total, 5.08 million were Ultra phones, 2.41 million were vanilla S25 units and a low 1.67 million were the Plus model. By the end of June, the S25 series had outsold the S24 series by 12.2% during the same time frame.
The Find X9 Ultra, Oppo's upcoming flagship camera phone, was previously rumored to launch in April 2026. However, a new report suggests the device could debut earlier than expected. Oppo is also said to have fast-tracked the launch of the Find N6. According to tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra will be unveiled in China in March next year.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold officially went on sale this fall, and it was welcomed with stiff competition from the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. While Google doesn't bring a flashy redesign like Samsung this year, it rivals the Galaxy with quality-of-life features -- a couple of which are subtle but industry-firsts for the foldable market. If you are ready to upgrade from a slab phone to a foldable one, now is the best time to do so.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 price has hit a new low - it's now under €800. This puts it between the vanilla Galaxy S25 and the S25+. The flip foldable offers a new form factor experience, unlike the S-phones, which haven't changed much in the last few years. The Z Flip7 has a 4.1" cover and a 6.9" inner display plus a 50+12MP dual camera on the outside (usable with the cover display).
The majority of people prefer that only folded dimensions are used when filtering phones based on their thickness, width and height. People had a simple reason for voting this way - most of the time, the phones stay folded. You carry them closed, of course, but with the rapid improvement of cover displays (especially on flip foldables), you can get a lot done without opening the phone.
If you can't tell from the image below, Razr's latest handset boasts a unique wood grain back panel, which makes it one of the best-looking phones you can buy. It's not just about looks, though; the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset makes it incredibly fast, and it still manages to last a full day on a single charge. It also features two displays, specifically a 7-inch 1224p inner display that unfolds and a 4-inch 1080p outer screen that's perfect
The apps that work brilliantly in a standard Android setup don't always work so well when you're dealing with a dual display. Specifically, anything involving your Android home screen is suddenly in a whole new universe. It kinda makes sense, when you really stop and think about it: On a typical Android device - the type 99% of Homo sapiens carry around and that we've all traditionally been using for years now
Very small particles are a particular concern for foldables. A piece of sand or dirt that works its way under the sensitive inner screen can cause it to fail. Folding phones have some protections against particles, like brushes in the hinges to keep dust out, but none had been considered fully dust-tight - until now. Samsung's IP48-rated Folds and Flips only guarantee protection against objects greater than a millimeter in size, which is bigger than a speck of dust (not to mention many sand grains).
The i-Blason Cosmo Series Case offers a unique two-piece system designed for the Galaxy Z Flip7, prioritizing military-grade protection while accommodating the phone's folding mechanism.
