Tamasin Rhymes won the Shooters Hill by-election on June 26 with 34.5% of the vote, narrowly beating Labour's Jummy Dawodu who received 30%.

The Green Party has made a historic gain by securing its first-ever councillor in Greenwich, with Tamasin Rhymes winning the Shooters Hill by-election.

The Green party can and must lead a hopeful fightback, offering a genuine alternative and a home for voters who feel abandoned by Labour and the Tories.

Ali emphasized that the struggles faced by various communities, such as cost of living and access to education, are not limited to any ethnic or working-class group.

"I think that this is what they wanted," she told The Local in an interview. "I think the fundamental problem is that the intention behind these new rules seems to be to delay the processing of citizenships, and not primarily because they fear some people might have security problems."

"Duddridge remains in the property but says the threat of eviction has caused her and her family significant stress, while Labour has accused Pedley of hypocrisy given his party's opposition to no-fault evictions."

"A landlord can choose to increase the rent 30% to 40% in some cases, that's come up a lot. That experience of not feeling you have control of your home, especially if you're a renter."
