The first warning is valid from 2pm today until 9am tomorrow morning and promises to bring "persistent" and "heavy" rainfall, the forecaster said. It applies to counties Cork, Kerry and Waterford and threatens localised flooding and difficult travel conditions. These three counties were subject to the previous rain warning which expired this morning. Another warning has been issued by the forecaster for Wexford. It begins at 8pm on Sunday evening and lasts until Monday morning, 10am.

Humberto has deescalated to a category four storm but is still barreling toward the east coast with sustained winds of 155mph, according to the National Hurricane Center. NHC forecasters are more watchful of Tropical Depression Nine intensifying into Tropical Storm Imelda, fearing the storm system may strengthen into a hurricane right as it approaches the Georgia and South Carolina coasts.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rain warning for Clare, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo, valid from 6pm today until 6pm on Thursday. The national forecaster has warned of significant rainfall accumulations from heavy showers and longer spells of rain, with isolated thunderstoms possible. Potential impacts may include localised flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions. Rain will be heavy to start off the morning in the north and east with thunder and some lightning, though this is expected to clear up quickly.
