Five people have been taken to hospital after a stabbing incident at a home in North York Monday night, Toronto paramedics said. Toronto police say they were called to the Bathurst Street and Steeles Avenue area around 9:44 p.m. for reports of unknown trouble at a residence. Police found four victims with various levels of injuries who have since been taken to hospital, three of whom had been stabbed.

Five staffers were hospitalized after an unknown substance was discovered in a Chino prison, authorities said Tuesday, Jan 20. They responded after an unknown chemical substance was found on a joint and a Bible page at the prison, according to an initial hazardous materials spills report filed with the state.

A carbon monoxide leak sent six people to hospital in the city's Weston neighbourhood on Monday evening, according to Toronto firefighters and paramedics. Emergency personnel were called to 1942 Weston Road, near Lawrence Avenue W., for a medical call shortly after 5 p.m. on Monday. The leak was inside residential-over-commercial building. When firefighters arrived, they found that the carbon monoxide reading was above the threshold considered dangerous.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - A four-vehicle crash at the intersection of Forest Hill Road and Richmond Avenue in New Springville resulted in multiple injuries on Monday afternoon, according to emergency officials. The crash was reported at approximately 2 p.m., according to a spokesperson for the NYPD. The driver of one vehicle attempted to change lanes and make a right turn onto Forest Hill Road, but collided with another vehicle, the police spokesperson said.

The fire broke out under a New Jersey train on Monday, sending several people to the hospital and temporarily suspending service for most of the morning.
