Angry bystanders confronted a woman cutting down yellow ribbons for Israeli hostages from a fence in north London. The young female is filmed with a pair of scissors which she uses to brazenly snip the memorial bands that the Jewish community have tied to railings. Wearing a navy blue bomber jacket, and clutching a green, white, and purple striped tote bag under her arm, she declares that they are condoning genocide.
Israel announced on Wednesday a temporary new route for residents to flee Gaza City, as it launched an intense ground offensive after massive bombardment of the Palestinian territory's main city. The Israeli military announces the opening of a temporary transportation route via Salah al-Din street, spokesperson Avichay Adraee said in a statement, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP). Adraee added that the route will be open for 48 hours only.
"We will bring them all home," he promised, gripping my hand firmly. It was a commitment spoken with the conviction of someone who sees each hostage as a precious life - a world unto itself. I could see that he meant it.
"Music has a way of getting to people. Music helps people connect, connect to the situation that Alon is in," she said.
