While the major closures of major stations like Waterloo and Liverpool Street are over, there is more planned disruption to watch out for over the coming days. When it comes to travel disruption, users of the Jubilee, Mildmay and DLR will be among those most impacted by planned changes to timetables.

Jubilee line embankment works to begin near Queensbury, lasting until summer 2027

There's going to be around 18 months of work on the northern end of the Jubilee line, where it runs high up on raised embankments. A letter sent to local residents and shared by the local Councillor, Jayanti Patel, informs them that the works will start in a couple of weeks time, on 16th January 2026 and last for around 18 months, completing in summer 2027. The affected area is the raised embankment around Queensbury tube station, a couple of stop short of the line's terminus at Stanmore.

Tube passengers escorted through dark tunnel after being trapped on Jubilee line train for three hours

"After about 40 minutes, they tried to continue the journey towards Westminster, but the train stopped again and you could feel something was not right. "The driver repeated the same message about needing to check things. "Then they told us the train would reverse back to Waterloo instead of continuing forward but on the way back, the train broke down again and the electricity just shut off completely."
