Reality Fracture is the penultimate mainline set for 2026 before Star Trek drops in November. It's the culmination of what the in-universe story has been building to since Phyrexia: All Will Be One that sees longtime hero Jace Beleren take on a more villainous role. In a sort of What If? scenario, Jace creates the Echoverse, an alternate reality that sees iconic other characters, locations, and cards shift.

Riot Games recently launched Riftbound, a trading-card game based on the wildly popular League of Legends franchise. Seven sets are scheduled for the next year, with three set within the Magic universe, and four traveling to Universes Beyond. The year begins with a return to Lorwyn in Lorwyn Eclipsed, which starts the year off on January 23. April's set will feature a revisit to Magic's mages school in Secrets of Strixhaven. The final in-universe set, Reality Fracture, will launch in October.

Marvel Legends is crossing over with Magic: The Gathering's new Spider-Man set with a series of action figures bundled with exclusive MTG foil cards. There are four different figures in the collection so far: Battle-Damaged Spider-Man, Agent Anti-Venom, Mary Jane Watson equipped with the Iron Spider costume, and Man-Wolf. The Spider-Man Magic: The Gathering set launched today, September 26, but these figures/promo codes arrive over the next two weeks.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is up for preorder for Nintendo Switch 2 at Amazon and Best Buy. In somewhat of a surprise, the upcoming port retails for only $40. FF7 Remake Intergrade launches January 22, 2026, on Nintendo Switch 2 as well as Xbox Series X|S. Square Enix is only releasing a physical version for Switch 2. It comes with a bunch of in-game bonuses and a Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy Play Booster Pack.

Tidus, Yuna's Guardian offers players the ability to move counters between creatures, enhancing their strategic gameplay in a Commander match. His Cheer ability allows for drawing cards and proliferating counters.

The starter deck showcases a rich array of heroes, simulating the camaraderie and excitement of multiplayer raids in Final Fantasy XIV, but with competitive player-versus-player dynamics.

While Magic: the Gathering can't replicate this exactly, the designers were clearly inspired by Terra's journey while developing her Commander deck.
