Wigan Athletic have sacked manager Ryan Lowe after 11 months in charge following their 6-1 thrashing by Peterborough United on Saturday. The dismal defeat dropped the Latics into the relegation zone, with the club having won just once in their past 10 League One fixtures. They were 11th in the table when they beat Burton on 2 December, but are now 22nd, two points from safety, after 29 matches.
Wilfried Nancy has been sacked by Celtic after eight matches and 33 days in charge, in the wake of Saturday's 3-1 home defeat by Rangers. Nancy lost six of his eight games and losing the Old Firm game from 1-0 up at half-time proved the final straw after a dismal spell. The 48-year-old leaves with Celtic six points behind Hearts in the Scottish Premiership, and having lost the League Cup final to St Mirren.
London City Lionesses have sacked manager Jocelyn Precheur midway through their debut Women's Super League season. It is understood the club have a replacement lined up for Precheur, who guided London City to promotion in 2024-25. Players and staff were informed of the decision on Sunday. It is believed the club have not made the decision based on results but with the view to changing their plans for the long term, and they do not see the Frenchman as the right manager to guide them
League Two bottom side Cheltenham Town have sacked manager Michael Flynn after they suffered a 3-0 home defeat by Oldham Athletic. The loss was the Robins' ninth in 12 matches across all competitions this season. Only one of those wins have come from nine league matches to date, leaving them at the foot of the English Football League. Flynn had been in charge of Cheltenham since May 2024 and guided them to 15th place in the table last season.
Bayer Leverkusen have sacked manager Erik ten Hag after two league games in charge with the weekend draw at Werder Bremen not enough to save the Dutchman's job. Leverkusen lost their opening Bundesliga game 2-1 at home to Hoffenheim to put ten Hag immediately under pressure, and Saturday's 3-3 draw against 10-man Bremen brings an end to his short reign at the club.
