Her father, a chef, took her to the kitchen. He filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Once the three pots began to boil, he placed potatoes in one pot, eggs in the second pot, and ground coffee beans in the third pot. He then let them sit and boil, without saying a word to his daughter. The daughter, moaned and impatiently waited, wondering what he was doing.
"Au 8ème Jour," which translates to "On the 8th Day" in French, uses CG, or computer-generated animation techniques to create a three-dimensional world in a stop-motion style. A multitude of vibrant animals and landscapes appear sewn from fabric in the film's otherworldly realm, each tethered to a single piece of yarn that connects it to a kind of central energy force-a vibrant, tightly-wrapped skein in the sky. But when mysteriously dark tendrils of black fiber begin to leech into this idyllic world, families and herds must run for their lives.
Awareness is both pervasive and subtle. Paradoxically, it is at once everywhere and seemingly nowhere. It's everywhere because you can't experience anything outside of awareness, pretty much by definition. In every direction, everything you see, hear, and feel is happening in awareness. You can't step out of awareness to see what the world would be like from outside it. Yet, because it's so omnipresent, it's easy to take for granted and miss.
Netty, a large, spider-like installation, serves as a playful urban tool for communication, reflecting themes of connection and dialogue central to community interaction.
